The collie standard by Mia Ejerstad

Another great book, and I happen to be the Lucky girl who has both of her books. It is the same, but the small one is the first one she published and the larger one is the new revisited one.

Why is this book a great one??? Well this one will explain with picutres to go with it, how the ideal collie should look. And I think that is very clever, because while explaining a form in letters, it is far more easy to see for youselve on a picture, what is meant.

Also great in this book is that the pictures are all drawings, drawings are in this particular case much better then photographs, you can explain more easy what you mean, without hurting people. ( it is kinda cool when you get asked for a picture because you have a great specimen of the breed, but otherwise it wouldn't be that great)

This book includes so many info, the complete standard is covered, for smooth and rough collie, and accompanied with loads of drawings, so you can see the ideal, faults and exaptable specimens in the breed. The drawings in this book are so detailed and they describe the standard so correctly, that there are a lot of books on collies that are having Mia's drawings in it. ( I know for sure the book of Stella Clark)
I go through this book alot, it is just great to watch all the great pictures and I think the breedstandard is the most important thing to read, every now and then, when you are a breeder.  And  if I'm not wrong this book is also study material for becoming a Dutch collie Judge.

If you can find it, you really should not hesitate and buy it. It is a paperback book and it is not extremely thick, but oh so worth your money.  You won't go wrong with this one.
If you like this book I think the easiest way is to try contact Mia Ejerstad on Facebook.
Or maybe check in Ebay or other sites.
